A dear friend of mine is a St. Louis Cardinals fan. She thought I would be cheering for St. Louis in the World Series since I'm from Missouri. Her conclusion was wrong. See I married a die-hard, superstitious, super fan of the Boston Red Sox. My husband was born in Massachusetts and much of his family still lives in the surrounding areas of downtown Boston. He made it quite clear that when I said "I do...for better or for worse" I was also making the same commitment to the Red Sox. His groom's cake was a Red Sox hat for freakin' sakes. So I informed her of the following:

1. I may be from Missouri, but I'm not from St. Louis. I'm from KC. The only team I would be allowed to support aside from the Red Sox would be the KC Royals...and well, how we like to say in the South "Bless their hearts...". Bah ha ha
2. I married into supporting the Red Sox till death do us part. So unless I die or the Red Sox dissolve as a team...I will support them, for better or for worse. (Thankfully this year it is FOR BETTER!)
Along with this conversation more smack talk commenced and a bet was made. If her Cardinals won I would replace my Facebook profile picture, a selfie in a Red Sox hat, with a selfie in a Cardinals hat for a week. If our Red Sox won she would change her Facebook cover photo for a week to the smack talk photo of my picking. You can connect the dots on this now. What a good sport and a woman of her word! Its nice when friends can be civil and graceful in the face of DEFEAT. ;) Bah ha ha
