Read this on the bump today:
you're 22 weeks pregnant...Real estate within your belly is getting tight, with growing baby leaving little room for your lungs to...well...breathe. Expect the huffing and puffing to start soon. There's not much room for your belly button, either -- it'll pop out any day now.
My belly button is gonna do what?!!!?!!! Oh my!

MONKEY UPDATE:

Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.

Week 21 and I've got big news! I got a job! I thought the career thing would be on hold until after the baby, but I got an email from a company I interviewed with pre-pregnancy about an opening. I decided to take the meeting and see where it would go. I never thought they would hire me knowing I was 5 months pregnant. I'm so glad I was wrong! I am very excited about starting this new journey. I think this is a great fit and will compliment my pregnancy. I am going to be the Administrative Manager for a financial firm. I think they are a great group of people and I can't wait to start working with them. I am just on cloud 9 folks! I've really been trusting GOD to show me my path and it's working out better than any plan I have ever made! :)
MONKEY UPDATE:
Baby's now the size of a banana!Baby's digestive system is busy creating meconium (a tarry black substance made of swallowed amniotic fluid, digestive secretion, and dead cells), which will fill the first diaper after birth. And, if baby is a girl, her womb is now stocked up with her lifetime supply of six million eggs (the number will drop to around one million by birth).

Mike and I went for our 20 week ultrasound this morning. At first Monkey had his legs crossed and was not participating, but we were able to finally get the shot above that confirmed Monkey is a BOY. Mike and I are very excited! He didn't want to be bothered and he kept turning his back on the tech. We didn't get a real good shot of his face, but I go every four weeks so I hope we can get one next time. The tech. did mention he has big feet, but assured us that he'll grow into them. Ha, ha

Well, here we are...week 20. Half-way there.

I can feel the baby move now....alot. Everyone asks me if I think its neat. I think it is but I'm definately not used to feeling something move around and thump around in my stomach. I admit sometimes it is a bit "Alien" the movie. LOL Just to be honest. I was stitting at Sunday family dinner and recieved my first soccer kick to the bladder. Soooo happy I didn't pee myself. Mike noticed me jump. LOL

My friend Becca got married this weekend. It was very pretty. I was a bridesmaid thanks to some major dress alterations. I got fitted and ordered the dress when I was back in Raleigh and very NOT pregnant. It would zip all the way but the last three inches. Thanks to the lady at Fix to Fit a panel snapped into the back and gave the extra room I needed. Thank goodness!

Today I had a job interview. Random, I know. It was with a company that I had previous interviewed with before I was pregnant. They want me to take some Microsoft Office testing and then we'll see where it goes from there. I told them that I was five months pregnant and I was VERY surprised when they said they were willing to work around it. Wow. I really under estimate things sometimes.

This Wed. Mike and I go for our 20 week ultrasound. Know what that means? If the baby is cooperative we can find out the sex. I'll be sure to give ya an update on what we find out.

Monkey Update:

Baby's now the size of a cantaloupe!Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.

(this is the bedding we like)

My doctors have advised me that traveling in my first and third trimester isn't going to be allowed due to me being high risk. So my friends and family are having an early shower for me in Missouri November 14th at the Indep. Sermon Center from 1-3 pm. (everyone is welcome) That being said, Mike and I have started registering. There will be a shower held in Kentucky also closer to my due date which is Feb. 27th. There is sooo much stuff needed for such a small person. heh, heh We find out the sex next week hopefully, but we have decided to keep things neutral for the most part. Thought that way we could use for baby #2 even if a different sex. We just got started and will be adding more I'm sure. We are registering at the following:

Sorry for the short post. I'm sick today! :(
Monkey Update:

Baby's now the size of a mango!Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil, and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.

This week I went to Becca's bachelorette party. I had a really good time even though I was tired and couldn't drink. ;)

Monkey Update:

Baby's now the size of a sweet potato!Baby's become amazingly mobile (compared to you, at least), passing the hours yawning, hiccupping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing. And baby is finally big enough that you'll soon be able to feel her movements.
